"Staying up for 7 days is more mental than physical” said Keke, “If you can realize what these abused children have gone through for weeks upon years...seven days is a cake walk!" “Child abuse can stop with our help”

When Live for 175 began in 2008, KISS FM's Keke Luv made a promise to stay awake for 7 days in an effort to bring awareness and support to the issue of child abuse.  Not only did he accomplish the goal of 7 days, Keke's mission stretched farther than anyone could have expected.

During those 7 days, hundreds of people came forward with heartbreaking stories of abuse and pain.  Additionally, thousands of listeners came forth to help, lend support and cheer Keke on as he battled not only with the physical demands of staying awake for 7 days, but the emotional toll of such a roller-coaster week.

To say the least, Keke Luv accomplished his goal of raising awareness for the issue, as his effort was covered not only in the local TV media, but FOX NEWS. What's more, LUV and KSAS were recognized (WEDNESDAY 4/10) on the floor of the UNITED STATES HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES by IDAHO State Representative MIKE SIMPSON.

At 5p Wednesday April 9, 2008, PEAK BROADCASTING Top 40/Mainstream KSAS (103.3 KISS-FM)/BOISE PD/afternoons KEKE LUV completed his 175-hour broadcasting marathon (seven days straight) to raise awareness for child abuse. THE IDAHO STATESMAN reported that a visibly weakened LUV left the station in an ambulance as a precaution, but was not hospitalized -- just taken to a hotel.

Ms. Sunny Reed, Executive Director of Idaho’s Heart said “The Safe Haven Crisis Nursery is modeled after very successful programs offered in many different states.  By supporting parents in any type of crisis we can prevent our children from being harmed.  The most important part of starting this nursery and preventing child abuse in general is getting the word out to the concerned public about abuse and how it can be stopped.  We are very pleased to be teaming up with 103.3 KISS FM and KeKe Luv to bring awareness to such a serious public issue”
