34 Million Cars Recalled For Exploding Airbags

34 Million Cars.  That means 1 in 7 cars on the road may be carrying an air bag that could explode and send shrapnel into the driver and passenger into the front seat. 

Takata admitted to the biggest auto recall in US history yesterday.  Most of the vehicles affected are from maker Honda, model year 2001-2011 but there are other manufacturers using Takata airbags as well.  They include Chrysler, Nissan, Toyota, BMW, Mazda, Mitsubishi, GM and Subaru.

If your car's airbag is affected by the recall, the manufacturer should have sent you or will be sending you a notice, but you can key in your vehicle's VIN number HERE to see if yours is affected.

Dealers will replace airbags as long as parts are available.
