We thought something was a little off during the Boise Bike Week finale party on Saturday.

My old training partner was in town from Tennessee with his fiance this weekend, so a group of us met up in the rain at the new Payette Brewing Company location at 733 S. Pioneer St.  They brought taps outside for a giant parking lot party complete with food trucks, yard games and more. What I failed to realize was Saturday was also Game #3 of the series between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Toronto Raptors.  My Cleveland born and raised boyfriend wanted to go inside the brewery to see if the game was on.  He came back to report there was nothing going on inside, they weren't pouring any beer and he was asked to not take his beer inside either.  We hypothesized that something was probably not complete with their permits.

Turns out we were right.  Michael Deeds with the Idaho Statesman broke the news that the new $4.5 Million location is closed until further notice. Turns out the brewery had been using temporary catering permits to for its soft opening weekends, but the city hasn't officially licensed them to operate yet.  They've decided to close until their official license goes through.  Right now there's not a perspective opening date, but Deeds speculates that it could be the first week of June.

We've really enjoyed our visits to the new location and Payette's always been one of my top 3 favorite local breweries! Here's hoping that permit comes through soon!
