You remember hearing "Beautiful Girls" back in the day right?

You can catch our BMF throwback artist June 24th alongside Flo-Rida, The Band Perry, Hey Violet, Austin Mahone, and tons more artists. Here's what you need to know before seeing Sean Kingston on the Boise Music Festival stage:

#4 - American Born, Jamaican Bred

Sean Kingston is known for his melodic Jamaican sound, because that's where he was raised. However, Sean was born in the states. Miami, Florida to be exact.

Much like Justin Bieber (more on him in a minute) was discovered on YouTube, Sean Kingston was originally discovered via his MySpace page. Interesting to note that before he was discovered in 2007, Sean had a much more hip-hop sounding delivery. After working with producers, Sean developed the smooth Jamaican crooning we've grown accustomed to today.

Sean's first big song "Beautiful Girls" got him into the mainstream, but if it sounds familiar, there's a reason for that. The song samples Ben E. King's classic 1960's R&B hit "Stand By Me".

In 2010, Kingston released his "Back 2 Life" album, featuring a duet with Justin Bieber titled "Eenie Meenie". This was just the start of their working relationship. Kingston and Bieber planned on releasing a mixtape together titled "Our World", which was recorded and completed, but never official released.
