I'll probably have to sleep on the couch after writing that headline...

My boyfriend is from Cleveland, OH and is a die hard fan of every sports team the city has to offer: the NBA Champion Cavaliers, the doomed Browns, the AHL Calder Cup Champion Monsters, a few defunct soccer teams...and the Cleveland Indians.  I don't think he's ever been as excited to show me something as he was when he pulled out all of his gear from when the Tribe played in the World Series in the late 90s. He even tried to get me to wear one of his jerseys to work today.  (The man is 6'2." That thing was a dress on me.)  In my heart, I'm actually a Pittsburgh Pirates fan when it comes to the MLB.  I grew up between the two cities and I think he secretly hates that I'm a Pirates fan...so by telling you why Boise should cheer for the Cubs, I'm risking having to sleep on the couch tonight!

But...there are actually seven really good reasons to cheer for the Chicago Cubs in the chase for this year's World Series championship.  Not long ago Boise's Class A-Short Season Baseball team, the Boise Hawks, were affiliated with the Cubs (2001-2014).   Now seven former Hawks have found themselves on the roster to play for the Cubs on baseball's biggest stage!

Want to cheer them on? The first pitch of game one is TONIGHT at 6:08 p.m. on FOX 9!
