9 Year Old Boy Arrested For Stealing Gum [Local]

A 9 year old boy was arrested for stealing a pack of gum from a local Idaho store! This is serious, a warrant was issued for his arrest after this 9 year old failed to appear in court for the 2nd time! Of course I got him on the phone to figure out what was going on in his head, what flavor of gum he was swooping, and what his parents had to say. This is a national story on CNN. I took a few callers on this, and I feel like this could have been a situation to stop something before it got even bigger and out of control! 10 years down the road, this kid is going to be 19-20.. who's to say this dude is not going to attempt to steal something even bigger! A car, money, anything! I hope this little dude learns from what just happened to him. Tactics like this are used all the time in parenting. Thoughts?
