I got watch my Cleveland Browns lose at the Downtown Old Chicago every Sunday and am always eager to see what's new on their rotating taps. I've fallen in love with my new favorite beer!

Last year Ben & Jerry's teamed up with New Belgium Brewing (the folks responsible for Tour De Fat at Ann Morrison Park every year) to brew their first ever ice cream beer, the Salted Caramel Brownie Brown Ale.  I gave it a try last year and it was good, but in no way shape or form tasted like ice cream.  It tasted like...well, a brown ale. I didn't have high expectations when I saw the brand new Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ale on tap at OC last weekend.

But OMG was I wrong! New Belgium and Ben & Jerry's latest collaboration tastes like it's name...like Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough! If you're someone who claims they don't like beer (maybe you're more a hard cider type of person) I think this one is worth you expanding your horizons, because it doesn't taste beer at all!

It's also a beer with a cause.  Fifth thousand dollars of proceeds from sales of this beer will benefit Protect Our Winters, a non-profit raising awareness about climate change and global warming.  That's something that anyone who skis/boards at Bogus, Tamarack or Brundage can appreciate!
