It's no secret that here in Idaho, we love dogs! Go just about anywhere during any of our four distinct seasons and you're bound to see an adorable pup out and about--playing in the snow, enjoying a summer patio, or splashing in the rain!

One online pet company (The PetLab Co) knows that Idaho--like many other states--loves dogs. So, they put one of the newest and most entertaining technologies to the test: Artificial Intelligence.

The task? Having AI create a 'breed of dog' that embraces that characteristics of each of the 50 states.

Here's a look at Idaho's 'dog' and some of the dogs from our surrounding states!

AI Generated Dogs: Idaho's Unique New Pet?

Well, these are very interesting to say the least...

What are your thoughts?

We can't lie--something about the potato chip fur is kind of creeping us out on a phobia level? Is anyone else getting the goosebumps just looking at it!?

The results for all of these dogs, however, are pretty entertaining. We can appreciate that while they had some fun with it, they were realistic on the results. Perhaps the most ironic? Texas, as you can see from their statement below:

We used an AI image generator to reveal what a dog breed would look like inspired by each state. Each dog feels like a great homage to their namesake and illustrates the individuality of each.

Surprisingly, many of the dogs AI created look like medium to large breeds, with only a few of the states represented by small dogs. This doesn’t seem to correlate to the geographic scale of each area, as Texas’ pup is among the smallest created.

If you haven't seen your pet in a while--odds are it might be checked into the West Valley Humane Society and waiting for you to come bring it home!
