This morning at like 3am, I was just typing and letting my mind go with thoughts. Just tons  of things running through my head, and I always have music playing in the background. I leaving my house with music playing, and when I get home its just this epic pop-punk soundtrack playing when I walk through the door...Perks of living alone. The Starting Line album "Say It Like You Mean It" got my brain going with memories of High School.

I had a great childhood, grew up with a great family, great friends, and a great time for music. This record came out around 2002, but I had not found The Starting Line until around 8th grade(2004 ish). I was in a band called "Right Side Up" at the time, playing guitar just because it was the cool thing to do. I remember specifically my friend and guitar playing Matt, would always play "The Best Of Me" on guitar. We tried to cover it a few times, and maybe got all the way through the song like 4 times total. Needless to say we were not very good musicians in 8th grade(I promise we got better).

The Starting Line's "Say It Like You Mean It" always reminded me of the girls from this catholic school down the road in Chicago Heights. For some reason whenever I saw the girls that we kicked it with, "The Best Of Me" would be on.. or playing in my head.

If it was not for the girl I was dating my sophomore year in high school, and her friends. I would not have listened to bands like... Brand New, the Audition, The Hush Sound. So many bands connected with so many different emotions throughout my years of growing up.

I love that music can trigger emotions and thoughts like this.... This album got to me last night.
