Idaho's 17th Annual Japanese Animation Convention will take over Downtown Boise this Memorial Day Weekend. That means if you thought it might be quiet due to Idahoans heading for the mountains this weekend - that's not exactly correct.

Cosplayers from all over will take part in this annual convention in which means you never know what you'll see roaming the streets this weekend.

Cosplay: A contraction of the words costume play, is a hobby in which participants called cosplayers wear costumes and fashion accessories to represent a specific character.

Cosplay Challenge: These are no ordinary costumes and there will be $2000 in cash prizes for top looks. I just spoke to a fan who spent 10 hours on her tutu.

There will be a High Society Formal and there is a dress code that is required. There are a lot of rules for this event so click through for details.
