Yes, I'm totally a cat person however this weekend is too important to not include dogs, cats, bunnies, birds, and more.

I never had a pet growing up, but as I got older I decided a kitten would be a good idea. I was a Sophomore in college and wanted a pet...that was the extent of what I was getting myself into. I adopted a little domestic short hair cat and I've been an overly proud single cat-dad ever since.

If you know the joy of adopting a furry friend or even if you have always wondered what it is like-- this weekend is National Pet Adoption Weekend! What better time to adopt and add to your family, than this weekend!?

In honor of said adoption weekend, Meridian Canine Rescue, a local dog shelter, is encouraging adoptions during a back-to-school themed event on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. During the event you will be able to bring the family, see the dogs that are up for adoption, and partake in all sorts of activities, such as running agility courses, making crafts, making dog treats and hopefully, finding a dog to bring home with you!
