Ariana Grande: high-flying singer, canvasser of feminism, aspiring Harry Potter villain.

Though a brunette, slicked-back half-ponytail has become the vocalist's signature hairdo, she changed things up for her "Focus" video with a set of gray-lavender locks. Showy? No doubt, but in a behind-the-scenes clip from the shoot above, she says she might as well be storming the halls of Hogwarts and issuing hexes into the dining hall.

"Today, auditioning for the role of Lucius Malfoy..." she jokes in the clip before diving head-first into set.

And though the video is definitely out there—"Focus" finds Ari going nuts with a trumpet, rolling around a circle-shaped inlet and exacting choreography with yoga balls—she insists it's everything she and her director wanted.

"Hannah Lux Davis is incredible," the singer says. "She's super talented. I told her my vision for the video, and she told me hers, and we, like, met in the middle. It was great, we both work really well together."

Now, though, comes the hard part—patiently waiting for what comes next. And though Grande's said Moonlight's additional tracks will have a noticeably different feel, she's sure fans will dig it all the same.

"I'm really excited, mainly because I feel like the best is yet to come," she says. "I feel like this is the best music I've ever made. I can't wait for everyone to hear this album."
