Things in BoDo continue to shake up as Urban Outfitters plans to close their Downtown Boise location.

According to our friend Don at BoiseDev, Urban Outfitters is joining the list of national retailers leaving Downtown Boise.  If you're a huge Urban Outfitters fan, don't be too devastated.  The clothing store isn't planning to leave the Treasure Valley permanently, but relocating the store to The Village at Meridian later this summer.  Parent company, URBN made a similar move back in 2015 when it closed the Downtown Anthropologie location to the Village in 2015. Urban Outfitters' BoDo neighbor Chico's also left for The Village.

The Meridian Press goes on to say that Urban Outfitters is eyeing the suite across the street from The Counter in The Village and has already filed several permits with the City of Meridian.

Urban Outfitters is the most recent business to move out of BoDo.  BSU's Downtown Bronco Shop is making it's move into the new Clearwater Building, leaving behind it's storefront next door to the Edwards theater.  On the same block, Snake River Winery is moving out to make way for The STIL ice cream shop. They're planning on renovating the space next door to Cafe d'Arte to include a 28 seat patio and will offer unique flavors that work in the beer, wines and espresso that will also be served at The STIL. The timeline for that project is unknown at this time, but we really hope it'll be open by the time temps sour into the 100s in the Treasure Valley!
