A 6th grader in Boise could have the answer to wildfire prevention. It's an idea of his that could change the way we deal with fire season altogether.

Want to know how to solve problems? Ask kids.

Kai Hatten is a 6th grader at White Pine Elementary School. He is gaining national attention after winning a local science competition and then placing first in a competition in Washington D.C.

The fire prevention device is a fire resistant tube with four sensors that wraps around a campfire. When the heat detectors (sensors) go off, it will activate a circuit and extinguisher that will spray out through the tub and extinguish the fire.

We are already huge fans of Kai. Way to go!
