Boise Native in National Singing Competition
This morning we were lucky enough to have 19 year-old, Boise native, Marissa Jerome in the studio with us to debut her first single "When You Were Mine." Marissa is in the running to open a MAJOR music festival in Sin City, Las Vegas and needs your help to get there!
Marissa's been singing and performing since she was four years old, but we remember her best from doing a cover of a Katy Perry song for a contest we put together to give away tickets when she was in the Treasure Valley a few years ago. Now she's become a YouTube sensation, pulling in 9.2+ million views in less than three years!
Marissa is currently a contestant in the Macy's iHeart Radio Rising Star contest. The grand prize winner will get to open the 2-day iHeart Radio Music Festival at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, this fall. She's sitting in 8th place ahead of American Idol and Boise Music Festival alum, James Durbin, former White Tie Affair front man, Chris Wallace and Colby O'Donis who you know from Lady Gaga's "Just Dance." To move on to the next round, she needs to be in the Top 5! So this is where you come in!
To cast your vote for Marissa, log-on to iheartradio.com/risingstar. You can vote for her 50 times per e-mail address, per day. Once you're done, share the contest on your social networks with the hash tage #iheartmarissajerome. This round of voting ends two weeks on May 26th.
