It sure seems like everywhere you go in the Treasure Valley there's a new restaurant giving Idahoan's a healthy option when it comes to health and nutrition. Not to mention all of the outdoor activities right in our backyard we can easily take advantage of. Want to burn some calories, jog the greenbelt or hike table rock. So it's not a surprise that Idaho ranks high on the Americas Fittest Cities list.

Shelby Fleig from USA Today reports:

The list ranks a series of criteria from health behaviors, chronic diseases to community infrastructure of the 100 largest cities.

A surprise, Arlington, Virginia was named Americas fittest city. But where does Boise Idaho rank? Coming in at number 10 right in between San Jose and Oakland. Not bad considering the index ranks the top 100 fittest cities in the county.

Heading up the bottom of the list, Oklahoma City with a health index score of 26.3.
