Boise State will lose a quarterback before the 2016 season begins.

According the Idaho Press Tribune, Ryan Finley will transfer to another school after he gets his degree in May. He still has two years of eligibility left and could be granted a third due to his medical redshirt after an ankle injury against Idaho State in game three last season. Having a degree makes him instantly eligible at an FBS school.

Finley was fighting for his starting position back from Brett Rypien, a freshman who took his spot after his injury but Rypien has emerged as the probable starter for this season. Tommy Stuart will be his back up.

Finley was also arrested for minor in consumption or possession of alcohol and resisting or obstructing officers a year ago.
