College Football is BACK! Did you know that we have four football teams? Yes, I said FOUR college football teams. Keeping up with them all can be a task unless you're a true fan of just one - kind of like most people!

Let's shout out to the home Boise team your Boise State Broncos (I have color schemes), Idaho Vandals which has massive alumni following in Boise, Idaho State Bengals in Pocatello and the College of Idaho Yotes. Did you now that?

There was a time not too long ago that the Bronco and Vandal rivalry went deep! I know that our offices are split between Vandals, Broncos, and Buckeyes (don't ask - Ohioans love Idaho). It's obvious that the favorite would be Boise State but I like to keep it all in the family. I'll share that Gem State love because I cheer on all our Idaho teams. That said, Vandal fans show and party in Boise for sure no matter what the record is.

Color Schemes

The Color Schemes for the Boise State Bronco games were just released and the first home game is this Saturday. BSU is favorite to make it in the New Year's Six bowl games. Can you guess who the Broncos are projected to play?

Sidenote: It's only week one and I wouldn't start booking a flight but it's fun to play the "what if..." game.

The Boise State Broncos are projected to reunite against Coach Pete's Washington Huskies in the Fiesta Bowl. Now, do you know how much symbolism and whatever term that means EPIC is surrounding a bowl game like that? Can dreamers just dream right?!

We'll come back to that as the Huskies are projected to run the table after the heartbreaking week one loss against Auburn. BSU is also expected to do what they haven't done since their fairytale season in back in 2006-7 going 14-0 with the upset win over Oklahoma. Let's not forget their other 14-0 season (do you remember? Answer is at the bottom.)

All that is great but I'm also a superstitious guy. It's like being up by double digits in a game and someone then says, "Well this one is over!" NOOOOO! Why would you say that 😤

Let's get back to reality real fast. The Broncos just won one game. They look great and QB Senior Brett Rypien looked outstanding including that defense everyone has been talking about. I'd rather just look one game at a time. The home opener is this weekend as the Broncos host UCONN Saturday night. Baby steps. Also, don't be that guy! Seriously, wear the right gear YO! The color schemes are out and it's time to color coordinate.

Oh! Back to that question of the 2 undefeated seasons. The Broncos have actually recorded three under Coach Pete and two of those ended in Fiesta Bowl wins.

  • BSU undefeated season in 2009-10 with Fiesta Bowl win over TCU 17-0
