Sgt. 1st Class Erin Smith of the Idaho Army National Guard has become the first female tank crew member in the U.S.

Sgt. 1st Class Erin Smith passed the 19 Kilo Army Military Occupational Skill curriculum June 25.Members of M1 armor crews use M1A1 and M1A2 Abrams tanks to destroy enemy targets, according to the Idaho National Guard.

I'm not sure what all of that means other than she's a total badass and it's so cool to see women follow dreams without any boundaries.

In an interview with KTVB, Smith says,

"I was interested in the idea of being an Army tanker long before talk about integration so when the opportunity came up I decided to go for it. It was intimidating at first—the fear of failure or not being good enough—but it's been an awesome experience."

Hearing about Sgt. 1st Class Erin Smith's accomplishments makes me so proud. There are some incredible people who come from Boise.
