Last Saturday my fiance and I were those people that you hate who take way too long trying to pick a movie at a Red Box but I absolutely loved the movie we ended up picking.  I also cried through the entire thing.

We ended up getting Mark Wahlberg's Patriots Day and I cried through at least 75% of it.  There's so much that I saw in that movie that I didn't realize had happened the day of the Boston Marathon Bombing and the days following it.  The way the FBI and assisting agencies combed through video and tips to identify the suspects was fascinating.  And I'm not the least bit surprised that one of the hardest things for the police to do following the blast was prevent runners from trying to make it over the finish line. For many, Boston is the pinnacle of the marathon world.  Anyone can finish a marathon (and yes, I say anyone...even if you think you can't, I know the people to train you to get over the finish line) but reaching those tough qualifying standards for Boston?  It's something people have on their bucket lists for years. Runners (and I can say this because I'm one of them) are a special kind of stupid sometimes. They hate when anything comes (even a bomb) comes between them and their finish line.

The bombing didn't change the running world's love affair with Boston and this year, over 50 athletes from the Treasure Valley are making the trip! If you want to track any of these athletes, text the word RUNNER to 234567 and then reply with their bib number when it texts you back! You can also search track them on the Boston Marathon website.

One of my best friends from Team Run Boise is on this list, so I'll be tracking her! Check back next week for some of her pictures from the course!
