A Boise native is headed to one of the most respected mid-major Division I Basketball programs in the country, BYU.

Ask me how I feel about BYU basketball and I won't have anything nice to say. That's a program that has become a true rival of MY team and alma mater, Gonzaga University. In fact, 1 of the 2 losses my Zags had all year long came from the BYU cougars on the road, in Zag country. I'm still not over that loss.

It's tough not to be impressed though, that a Boise native and graduate of Borah High School will soon be playing for the Cougars.  After spending the past year for a prep-school in Missouri, Rylan Bergersen has announced he'll be transferring to play for BYU.

Boise State Basketball fans will remember his father, Roberto Bergersen who was a stand-out Bronco, drafted to the NBA in 1999.

Bergersen will be joining two other Boise natives on the roster, Braiden Shaw (of Eagle High School) and Kolby Lee (of Rocky Mountain High).
