One #NewMusicFriday, two highly anticipated solo debuts by members of the biggest boy bands and girl groups of the moment.

Liam Payne isn't the only member of One Direction to go it solo — actually, he's the fifth and final member to do so. (Better late than never, right?) After announcing a major label deal a year ago, and just weeks after the birth of his baby boy Bear with Cheryl, the newly solo star makes his debut today with the Ed Sheeran and Steve Mac co-penned "Strip That Down," featuring Quavo of Migos.

And Liam's not alone in taking the solo plunge: following her dramatic exit from Fifth Harmony late last year and several solo collaborations with the likes of Machine Gun Kelly, Pitbull and J Balvin, Camila's first step towards her debut LP, The Hurting. The Healing. The Loving., begins with "Crying in the Club," co-written by Sia and Benny Blanco.

The two tracks are wildly different of course, but their intention is the same: to establish these talented performers as solo stars in their own right. But which one stands as the stronger serving?
