Celebrate Treasure Valley Wine On National Drink Wine Day

I like February 18th! Not only is it the day before my birthday, it's also a really good excuse to drink wine!

Today is National Drink Wine Day, a day to enjoy a glass of vino in celebration our love for it and its health benefits. It also seems like the right day to tell you about one of my new favorite wineries in the Treasure Valley!

My boyfriend and I celebrated Valentine's Day with our annual mystery wine tour around the Sunnyslope Wine Region in Caldwell.  Normally I write down the addresses and he drives to the wineries I picked, no questions asked.  This year he decided to pull an audible and add Zhoo Zhoo and Hells Canyon Winery to the list as a surprise for me!

Located at 18835 Symms Road in Caldwell, Zhoo Zhoo and Hells Canyon doesn't really look like a winery.  In fact, we weren't sure that we were in the right place because it looked like someone's home.  Turns out, it's because their tasting room used to be an adorable bed and breakfast.  The living room is still intact with couches, arm chairs and a cozy fireplace.  It's the perfect place to sip on one of Zhoo Zhoo's lifestyle wines like Redhead, Brunette, Blonde or Deep Pink.

We admired Babette Beattey's artwork hanging around the tasting room and the labels of the Zhoo Zhoo wines. When we got downstairs to the wine library to try some of the Hells Canyon reds, the man pouring for us told us that Babette was actually the first ever Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover model.

I'll be honest, I never wanted to leave after our visit to Zhoo Zhoo and Hells Canyon.  If you'd like to visit they are open Friday - Sunday from 12-5 PM!
