Christmas Baking: Apple Crisp
Landing it's self somewhere between a cobbler and apple pie, this warm, gooey, sweet, cinnamon apple treat has been a favorite in the Heart household for generations!
In a 13x9 Pan
- 8-10 apples, peeled and cut up
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup water
- Mix together and spread across the bottom of the pan.
In A Bowl
- 2 cups flour
- 1 coup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 pound melted butter
- Mix together and crumble over apples.
- Bake for 45 minutes at 350 degrees. Serve with warm with vanilla ice cream.
Don't put all the apple peels down the garbage disposal at once. I clogged mine up and the sink looks super gross this morning while I wait for maintenance to come fix it. And melt the butter in a pan, not in the microwave. Mine exploded out of the bowl and coated my microwave in butter. It smells like a movie theater, but was a pain to clean up!
