With another 2-5 inches of snow followed by freezing rain expected in the Treasure Valley today, Ada County is preparing for the possibility of continued flooding.

Starting Wednesday, January 18th Ada County residents experiencing flooding in their neighborhood are able to come to Barber Park (between sunrise and sunset) or the west parking lot at Expo Idaho (all hours) to pick up and fill sandbags.

Those affected by flooding are able to take up to 10 bags per property but will need a shovel to fill them themselves.

Not sure how sandbags help protect property in the event of flooding? They act as a barrier that water can flow around instead of into your building or yard.
