Last night I went to see Big Hero 6, which was an awesome Disney flick! I am always curious on the story line of these movies. This is about the movie "UP" the first 20 minutes of the movie was. The couple met, they got married, got a house, it was typical of course. What was crazy to me was the realism and the hardships that the couple in "UP" went through. Not being able to have a child, the sadness that they brought out in an animated movie was (I would assume) very on point. All the way to his wife dying.

How much real life hardship the writers of these Disney movies incorporate is  mind blowing. Big Hero 6, had the same kind of concept. There was a hardship, a tragedy, a downward slope of emotion that characters had to get through and over come to conclude the movie.

Disney plays with emotions and I always notice it. There is always a turning point where a character in the movie where something goes wrong and attempts are made to fix the problem. I'm a sensitive person so these things always choke me up.

Perfect short example, there is always an "Animated Short" before any Disney animated movie. The one before  Big Hero 6 was called "Feast"...

It's about a guy who finds a "Street Dog", feeds it some fries, and they become best buds. This animated short is based around the dog and his owner eating food. Finally the dogs owner meets a girl, who changes his ways and the dog owner starts to eat healthy on account of his new lady friend. The "Street Dog" was not happy with this change in nutrition. Everything was green, this and lettuce that. You notice the change from junk food to healthy food. It's pretty cool to watch. I can relate, because my EX is a very healthy eater... unless I mention Buffalo Wild Wings.

Eventually, the dog owner and the lady break up. They start eating pizza, ice cream, fries, all of the unhealthy stuff again. For a while this "Street Dog" was super happy, until he noticed that his owner was sad. This is where they grab your emotions.. and Disney decided to slap you in the face with SADNESS! I wont ruin this whole animated short for you, and this one is for sure worth an internet browse for. I just wanted to pose a point that Disney does a great job playing on emotions. Next time you watch any Disney movie... if you have read this blog, you will no notice the wave of emotions. Check out Big Hero 6... it's rad!
