    The Hippie Run

You had me at 5K, night and glow sticks.  This untimed 5K is new to the Treasure Valley and it's not about hitting a goal time or grabbing an age group award...it's about the party!  It's TODAY, Friday August 1st!

The run/walk starts just before dark at 700 S Capital Blvd (Julia Davis Park) and takes you through a disco/glow wonderland with different boogie stations before you reach the after party celebration!

Your registration fee includes a glow rod, t-shirt, glow bracelet, sticker and bib #!

    The Dirty Dash

The most fun you can have at Bogus Basin in the summer!  This is the one event that I make it a point to NOT miss.  This year's race is Saturday, August 2nd!

The just for fun 10Kish course takes you from the lodge, through the trails of Bogus Basin up the hill to some serious mud obstacles and a beer chug!  There's tons of photo ops and fun before you reach the giant mud pit at the end and enjoy the post race parties.

The early waves for Boise are sold out, but you can still register for Saturday afternoon at packet pick-up TODAY or at Bogus Basin on Saturday.

    Gem County Fair and Rodeo

Didn't get your fair share of fair food at the Canyon County Fair last weekend?  Fair season continues in Emmett through Saturday and the Gem County Fair brings the fun of the rodeo with it!

    Run For Your Life

Last weekend I had the opportunity to be a bus chaperone for some really amazing kids headed to Camp Rainbow Gold in Sun Valley.  The camp provides summer camp experiences for children and teens recovering from cancer and I can't adequately put into words how awesome it is for these kids to have a chance to get away for a week and not talk about what they've been through.  In fact, one camper said it best last week as we drove past 250 motorcycles that would end up escorting us from Hailey to camp: "Having cancer sucks, but the after effects which is this...rock!"

Some friends of mine that I previously fundraised with for Team In Training benefiting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society have put together a 5K, 10K and Half Marathon starting at the New York Life building this Saturday morning.  All of their net proceeds are going to benefit Camp Rainbow Gold this year.

If you are up for the challenge or just want a really great way to spend your training run this weekend, check out this 5K.  It means the world to those kids and their families!
