When I was in college up in Spokane, Washington I worked at a hotel all four years. I needed some extra cash to make ends meet and the only time I could work during the week was overnight--so of course, the graveyard shift at a local hotel was the logical answer, right?

No lie, as miserable as staying up all night for four years was, the job itself was a blast. I met some life long friends and I'll forever have an interest in the hospitality industry.

If I was sitting on a few million dollars, I would absolutely be looking to buy a hotel of my own. If you or someone you know is in the market for a hotel--there's a familiar one for sale in downtown Boise.

The Red Lion Downtowner is officially up for sale. According to the Idaho Business Review, the hotel has 182 rooms and has been three on Fairview Avenue since 2001. Prior to it's branding change to Red Lion, it was a DoubleTree Hotel. The seven-story structure was recently assessed by the Ada County Assessor to be worth $6.1 Million Dollars. The hotel ranks as the 6th largest in Boise, but will soon drop a place to 7th once the Residence Inn Tower downtown opens.
