You already love Chipotle's burritos, guac and chips, right? Why not have some for dinner tonight to help an incredible cause?!

That cause is Girls on the Run! Last fall, my friend Debbie asked me to be the GOTR season finale speaker for her group at Spalding Elementary and I jumped at the chance! It's a group that I'm super passionate about and just love what they do! It's a running-based, after school program for girls in grades 3-5. Their goal is to help the girls develop healthy bodies, minds and relationships. At the end of their 10 week program, they run a non-competitive 5K and move on with skills for making smart eating choices, saying no to drugs/alcohol and standing up to bullying. I loved getting a chance to talk to the girls at Spalding and the the year. I even got a chance to be a running buddy for Paige and Grace for one of the GOTR finale 5Ks a few years ago.

The reason is this group is so near and dear to my heart is because I wish it'd been around when I was younger. In elementary school, I was picked on by the kids in my neighborhood relentlessly until I found the group of girls I still consider sisters through track. Running with a group of awesome girls gave me such a confidence boost and I'm glad there's a program like Girls on the Run that immerses girls in a culture of kindness before they navigate the gossipy world of middle school or junior high.

So where's the Chipotle come in? Tonight, Girls On The Run Treasure Valley is holding a fundraiser at the Chipotle on Eagle Road in Meridian (near the Village) from 5-9 p.m.  Go in, show them THIS FLYER or simply tell them that you're there to support Girls on the Run and 50% your purchase will go directly to help Girls on the Run! (Remember to do it though! They don't get anything unless you tell them you're there for GOTR!
