Filer Officer Who Killed Family Dog Back on Duty

The Filer police officer who killed a family dog while responding to a loose dog call on February 8th was allowed to return to duty over the weekend.  Not long after the incident, he was placed on paid administrative leave while the community created a Facebook page calling for him to be fired.  Petitions have been filed to recall the mayor and all four city council members.  The group behind the petition said the incident with the dog was the last straw after they've addressed several public safety concerns.
