You can't afford health care but you need it. Now what? There's a health care gap and 78,000 Idahoans are in this position.

What happens with a lot of people (maybe you, maybe your parents) is that the individual makes too much money to qualify for Medicaid and too little to qualify for an insurance subsidy.  So how do you get any sort of health care?

Let me introduce you to AMEN. They are the Adventist Medical Evangelism Network who are hosting a free three-day health clinic. This includes dental, eye and health services.

The clinic is being held at Expo Idaho today and tomorrow (April 18-19) from 12 noon until 8 p.m. and Thursday (April 20) from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.

When you show up, there will be just under 100 doctors, dentists, nurses and volunteers offering free healthcare. No need to bring insurance information or any money. Appointments aren't necessary. The clinic will run on a first-come, first-served basis.

I always get a cold sweat "checking in" at the doctor's office because I don't know what my co-pay is. Is it the normal charge or is it a specialist? Why does it keep changing? When the bill comes, I often wonder what I was paying. Sweating again.

No cold sweats with this clinic. Expo Idaho is going to be hoppin!
