Put a photo of a baked good on Facebook and people are bound to ask you how you made it.  Here's a fairly easy recipe for the fall favorite, Apple Crisp.

I've only asked my mother for her Apple Crisp recipe about 9,590 times but somewhere along the way she lost the recipe card for it.  Then she found it.  And lost it again...but years later, she was smart enough that when it finally turned up again to take a photo of it to send to my sister and I.  Now I'm going to make it live on the internet so it never disappears again! Enjoy! It'll be a delicious dessert at your Thanksgiving dinner!

In a 13x9 Pan

  • 8-10 apples, peeled and cut up
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup water

Mix together and spread across the bottom of the pan.

In A Bowl

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 coup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 pound melted butter

Mix together and crumble over apples.

Bake for 45 minutes at 350 degrees.  Serve with warm with vanilla ice cream.

Helpful hints

Don't put all the apple peels down the garbage disposal at once.  I clogged mine up and the sink looks super gross this morning while I wait for maintenance to come fix it.  And melt the butter in a pan, not in the microwave.  Mine exploded out of the bowl and coated my microwave in butter.  It smells like a movie theater, but was a pain to clean up!
