Can't wait to nerd out at the Treasure Valley Comic Con in July? Get your fill of Star Wars Fun this Saturday at Zoo Boise!

Ever want to get your picture taken with a Storm Trooper?  You'll have your chance to do it this weekend! Zoo Boise is hosting "Galactic Day" on Saturday, June 17th from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m and they're bringing our friends from the 501st Legion in to take pictures with fans of the galaxy far, far away!

While the photo-ops are super cool, the highlight of the day is the Q&A Skype sessions the Zoo has set up with actors who were actually in Star Wars! Here's who you'll have a chance to chat with if you're lucky to score one of the very limited seats in one of the sessions!

Catherine Taber

Most of Catherine's work in the Star Wars Franchise has been voice work on the television series Star Wars: The Clone Wars.  She voiced Padme Amidala, the mother of Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia Organa. She voiced Princess Leia in the Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II video game and Star Wars Detours television series.  Her most recent Star Wars work was done as a Hangar Control Center Officer/Weapon Technician in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Her session during Galactic Day at Zoo Boise is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.

Courtenay Taylor

Courtenay Taylor's work in the Star Wars includes voicing Juhani in the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic video game. She also lent her vocals the Halo 5, Fallout 4, Mass Effect 3, Destiny and Star Trek: Starfleet Command 3. If you were a fan of Selena Gomez's "Wizards of Waverly Place" you may have seen here pop up as a news reporter in one of the episodes! Her session at Galactic Day is scheduled for 1 p.m.

Keone Young

Keone Young lends his vocals to the Star Wars Rebels animated series as Commander Jun Sato.  He's also appeared on NCIS: Los Angeles, Madam Secretary, Sons of Anarchy and True Blood.  His also starred as Mr. Wu in Men in Black 3.  His Skype session at Galactic Day is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.

Other Galactic Day Activities

Stop by the Simplot Multi-Purpose Room at 3 p.m. to see 2 actors run you through six Star Wars Movies in just 30 minutes in "Star Wars Abridged - a Hilarious Star Wars Reenactment!" Or swing by Band Wars on the Event Area Stage to see Star Wars themed entertainment from Boise Rock School, Bounce, Kitchen Syncopation, Summerwind Skippers, Pop Overkill the Rebel Punks and Red Light Challenge.  The Event Area Stage entertainment begins at 10 a.m.!
