When I was in college, I had the incredible opportunity to accept a bid from Kappa Delta Sorority and learn more about their philanthropies.

One of those philanthropies is the Girl Scouts of America and I loved getting a chance to work side by side with such an energetic and smart group of young women! That's why if I have cash on me, I'll almost always stop to buy a box of Tag Alongs or Thin Mints if there's a cookie booth set up outside the Albertsons that I shop at...even if I don't necessarily need to eat them!

What you might not realize is that you don't actually have to take home the cookies and eat them yourself! You can buy cookies and donate them to the Girl Scouts of Silver Sage "Cookies from the Heart" program.  The girls will then donate that box of cookies to the Idaho Foodbank to help those less fortunate in the Treasure Valley! And this year if you decide to buy a $4 box cookies for the "Cookies from the Heart" program, the United Dairymen of Idaho will make your donation go even further by donating a gallon of milk to the Foodbank!

You can donate to the program by purchasing cookies from your favorite Girl Scout, through the new Digital Cookie Program or at one of the cookie booths set up around town!  Just look for the decorated "cookies and milk" box at those pop-up locations to make a difference.
