TODAY is all about Harry Styles — the former One Direction member made his solo debut on the NBC talk show this morning (May 9) and charmed a crowd that would have likely devoured him given the chance.
Styles, whose solo debut album drops Friday (May 12), played his first single “Sign of the Times,” “Ever Since New York” and “Carolina,” a bit of Joe Cocker-style rock-funk complete with doo-wops.

Styles told the show’s hosts that he’s excited for his next era as an artist, and that fans should expect something pretty different.
“It’s exciting, yeah,” he said. “I think it’s a part of me I haven’t really put out before and it’s songs that I’ve written that I wanted to tell the whole thing and I had one of the best times of my life making it.”
The full lineup of TODAY‘s summer Citi Concert Series was released yesterday (May 8) and included Niall Horan, Shania Twain, Charlie Puth, Ed Sheeran, Flo Rida, Chris Stapleton and Hailee Steinfeld. The site said there’s been unprecedented eagerness by viewers to land tickets.
“We’re always looking for artists who are launching big tours, who have albums coming out, and who across the board are making news and who have big things coming, Brittany Schreiber, TODAY’s music booking producer, said of the selection process.
