You did it. You bought that dream car you've had your eye on for months. Now it's time to make it legal.

Registering your vehicle and getting Idaho plates isn't super complicated, but it is much easier if you go in prepared.

First, find a DMV in the Treasure Valley near you. Here's what you'll need to bring to register your vehicle:

  • Proof of insurance
  • Your current registration within Idaho, or out-of-state registration
  • Proof of address
  • Proof of a VIN inspection (which you can complete at the DMV)
  • Payment for registration fees (Ranging from $25-$70 per year)

Bring all that with you, and your friendly neighborhood DMV should be able to walk you through how to get your new whip all legal and road ready. Happy driving!
