Being the type of guy I am, often times things like the changing of seasons don't even cross my mind. That is until I come home one afternoon and see my wife has completely switched up the house. I love that she does it, because I find it brings a true sense of that "homey" feeling. But me? I would never even THINK to do it! For the last 4.5 years, I know its fall when...

1. Our Soaps are Changed
I know it's fall when I go to wash my hands and find the smell of "pumpkin latte" or "apple orchard" from Bath and Body Works wafting through the air. Our normal soaps have disappeared and will be replaced with cheery smells until spring.

2. Our Doormat is different
The usual "welcome home" mat on our front door is now updated with a colorful mat with leaves.

3. Wreath on the Door
Not always the most observant, if I've overlooked the new doormat I certainly don't miss the large, colorful wreath of leaves hanging on our front door.

4. Candles and All the Smells
My wife is a candle hoarder. From "autumn leaves" to "cinnamon pumpkin" to "frosted vanilla sugar"... I know it's fall when I come home and the house is filled with the glorious smells of fall.

5. Pumpkin Spice Everything
You name it- coffee creamer. Wall plug ins. Décor. 'Tis the season for all things pumpkin and our house is littered with it!

What are your fall traditions?
