He brought Mr. Spock to life in the Star Trek franchise.  Today we say goodbye to Leonard Nimoy.

Nimoy's widow confirmed that he passed away at home as a result of end stage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease at the age of 83.  He spent time in the hospital for the condition earlier this week.

Nimoy spent forty years playing his iconic character and returned to the role in the 2009 and 2013 motion pictures.  He sent this last tweet before his death.
