Enough of the white stuff has fallen to prompt a snow day at several schools in Idaho. Here's where the kiddos are staying home instead of heading off to school today.

The McCall/Donnelly School District is closed today along with the Basin School District in Idaho City and the Garden Valley School District.

All valley area schools will remain open. According to idahonews.com, the decision was made in part due to several school bus drivers being sick in addition to the weather and snow removal.

It looks like the school closures will not affect school sports.

The Garden Valley Middle School boys basketball team will travel to Riverstone today with buses leaving on schedule at 2 p.m. and The Garden Valley High School boys basketball and wrestling practices will still be held but times will be communicated by your kid's coaches.

If you live in these mountainous areas and have the day off, batten down the hatches and enjoy your extra long weekend with the kids. We'll keep you posted as soon as we know whether or not the schools will re-open tomorrow.

More snow is expected this morning, but it's likely to turn into rain and then more snow is expected on Wednesday according to weather.com, so I wouldn't be shocked if there ends up being a couple snow days. As I said, we'll let you know as soon as we know!
