There's an abandoned ghost town in Idaho...or is there?

In Owyhee county sits Silver City, an 1800's mining town that is now entirely run by solar power.

Solar panels have been powering Silver City since 1983, and the town's hotel and drug store are still doing business to this day.

It's been said that Silver City is the most intact town of its age in the country, and the fact that its buildings are still in use today is unheard of. Many of the buildings and houses still have the original furnishings, since miners left the town in such a hurry.

Locals say if you're trying to visit Silver City, don't follow GPS. Take Silver City road from Murphy and you'll end up in the center of the not-so-abandoned national treasure.
