The Instagram-blocked eggplant emoji search is getting some company in the app's virtual prison.

Some of the program's users have recently noticed that when they search #curvy, the program doesn't return any photos, though #Curvywomen and #curvygirl still generate collections. When Mashable reached out to the company for answers, it asserted the restriction was, indeed, intentional.

"I can confirm that we did block the hashtag #curvy," a spokesman told the site in an email. "It was being used to share content that violates our guidelines around nudity...Please note that the block has nothing to do with the term 'curvy' itself."

As Mashable pointed out, #bitch, #vagina and a slew of conceivably lewd terms are still available for search, as is the contrasting #skinny, the search for which yields photos that could be considered provocative, too.

Naturally, social media users expressed concerns, and said the block is simply a means through which Instagram can pick and choose what its users should look like or which pictures account holders should share.

"Phew, since Instagram banned the hashtag #curvy, there are no more fat people in the world. Congrats, Instagram," @SophieHagen sarcastically criticized, while @SabDumais offered "To ban #Curvy on #Instagram is another way of saying #AcceptYourselfTheWayWeWantYouTo."
