iPhone 4s, 5c and 5s users will receive an update today that will make their old phones seem as cool as the new iPhone 6 and 6 Plus unveiled last week. Here's what you need to know about the update.

TouchID for EVERYTHING!

5s users with fingerprint technology will now be able to use the scanner to do much more than unlock their phones and buy something from iTunes with their print.  In the new operating system, users will be able to make in app purchases from third parties.

Time Lapse Video Built Into Camera

Think that the video from Instagram's new Hyperlapse app looks neat but you don't like the fact that the only way you can film that professional quality video is by opening the app?  Never fear!  In the new iOS8 you'll be able to take that cool looking video right from your camera.  This new feature is the reverse of the one Apple introduced with Slo-Mo in iOS7.

Leave Group Texts/Messaging Improvements

Can I get an amen?  Finally, Apple is freeing us from being trapped in a group message that we could probably care less about.  Likewise, if you want to bring someone into the conversation, you'll be able to do that now too.  iOS8 also takes on Snapchat by adding self-destructing multimedia messages for voice and video to it's messaging app.

Swipe Away

Love the ability to swipe type on a Droid phone, but hate everything else about it?  Apple's now letting you swipe on your iPhone!  Third party keyboards like SwiftKey and Swype will now work with your iPhone allowing for faster texting/typing.

What Song Did 103.5 KISS FM Just Play?

In addition to keeping track of all of Kekeluv's alter egos, Siri can now identify the new music we're playing on 103.5 KISS FM.  Siri now works with Shazam and will be able to give you her best guess just by asking "What song is playing?"

The new update is expected to be available for iPhone 4s-5s, iPads Generation 2 and up and iPod Touches Generation 5 and up around 11 AM today.
