It’s Important to Laugh Today

Today is a very important day, perhaps the second most important holiday of the year, after International Cat Day of course. It's a celebration that I rarely do not live up to on the daily, but today is reason for an extra laugh or two. Why?

It's National Tell a Joke Day!

I'm really awful at telling jokes, however if you tell me one its almost a guarantee that I will laugh. Laughing has always been a "problem" problem for me. Once I start, there's no stopping me. For example:

I remember as if it were yesterday, my parents coming home angry from Parent-Teacher conferences when I was in Kindergarten. These conferences were always right before my birthday growing up, so if the parents came home angry, I knew my birthday would be NO fun! On this specific occasion, my dad was angry and it wasn't at me. Apparently, he was angry at my teacher for saying that I laughed TOO MUCH!  It's still an ongoing joke with me. "He's in Kindergarten for goodness sake" he would always say.
