If you know me or read my blogs here at 103.5 KISS FM, you know that I am a huge fan of local businesses. Not only are some of the best places here in Boise locally owned but I feel like part of the magic of Boise is that we're surrounded by so many local options. Maybe it's that being local can allow a business to capitalize on that unique vibe of our town, versus a cracker box store on any give corner, USA.

Today is a pretty great chance for you to celebrate out local businesses by shopping and buying local! In fact, today is National Mom and Pop Business Day!

There are, in the United States, well over 20 million small businesses. I understand I'm a little biased here, but I would prefer a local business over a corporation, any day! Keeping our money here in Boise helps with out already quick moving growth.

If you're looking for local businesses and restaurants, there are a few good resources for is here in the Treasure Valley.

Think Boise First is a local organization that promotes businesses right here in Boise and Garden City. You can find them, HERE.

There's also an Idaho-focused organization you may recognize from shelves on local grocery stores called Buy Idaho. Find them and their member businesses, HERE.
