It’s National Night Out in Boise

If you're looking for a fun way to get out of the house with your friends or family tonight--especially if you have kids--it is National Night Out right here in Boise this evening!

When I was a kid, all I wanted to do when I grew up was to be a firefighter (on some days) and a police officer (on the rest of the days).  It was really cool community events that were safe and welcoming that always were the reason those professions didn't intimidate me. Now of course, as I grew up I am working in a field FAR from either of those--but my respect and appreciation for our local public servants remains.

The purpose of National Night Out is to give communities a chance to meet the officers and agencies that serve them and in turn, to encourage neighborhoods to be safer and more welcoming.
