Rapper J. Cole continues to share his intimate storylines of his past with the video for ‘Apparently.’

The clip is a diary excerpt in which Cole questions how he came to fame and the power of faith.

“I keep my head high / I got my wings to carry me / I don't know freedom / I want my dreams to rescue me / I keep my faith strong / I ask the Lord to follow me / I've been unfaithful / I don't know why you call on me,” he sings on hook.

The minimal visuals, which finds the rapper performing the song in front of black and white images of his mother Kay Cole and a blue screen compliment the raw and honest elements of the track. He even touches on the foreclosure of his childhood home, which influenced the title of his latest album.

J. Cole's third album, ‘2014 Forest Hills Drive,' is currently in stores now.
