Live for 175 has hit it's the halfway mark. The concept of powering an entire radio station for 175 consecutive hours using nothing but electricity generated from listeners peddling stationary bicycles in the middle of an outdoor mall to bring awareness to child abuse sound a little on the crazy side. There are so many moving parts to this event, from bike maintenance to keeping our volunteers fed, to organizing over 2000 riders the list of priorities is long and dubious. If you were to ask me what the most important part of this event was, my answer would be "it's the people who come down and pedal".
I've mentioned on-air how amazing it is to see so many in our community active and engaged in standing up against child abuse. So far we have had full participation in our theme days with Health Care professional day, and First responder and military appreciation day. Thursday, April 19th is "Show your team spirit day". If you've signed up to ride, throw on your favorite team jersey and represent.
