Kegs For Kerry Supports Local Brewer Burned In Accident

When I saw the headline about a local brewer burned in an boil over accident in the brewery my heart just sank because that brewer is the wife of one of our very good friends from Team Mazda Subaru.  Here's how you can help the Thomas family out this weekend!

I can't say enough good things about Cory Thomas, the finance manager at Team.  I bought my first car from Team Mazda Subaru last year and was completely clueless about financing.  Loans, APR, interest rates, added coverage for power train components?  It was all Japanese to me, but Cory was super patient with me while I asked 1,000 questions before signing on the line.  During my first time buying experience, Cory and I got to talking about craft beer and that's when I found out that his wife Kerry was the head brewer at EDGE Brewing Company.

Kerry was severely injured in a boil over accident at the brewery last Friday and has since been recovering at a burn unit in Salt Lake City.  The accident burned 30% of her body.  She's scheduled to have skin graft surgery there on Monday, spend two weeks in recovery and then return to Boise for physical therapy and more healing.  Kerry's a fighter and is expected to make a full recovery, but her treatment is going to be a financial hardship on the Thomas family.

That's where you come in! Can you help our friends?  The local brewing community is coming together on Saturday for a Kegs for Kerry benefit at PreFunk in Nampa and Boise.  The Nampa location will be donating 100% of the money from their EDGE sales to the Thomas family.  The Boise location will do the same starting at 3 PM and will also raffle prizes generously donated by local businesses with the raffle proceeds going to the Thomas family.  So stop by and have a pint or two for Kerry!  And by all means, please share this event with your friends!
