It's a historic day in Oregon filled with discounts, free food for people with munchies and live music.  October 1st marks the first day that retail marijuana is legal in our neighbor to the west.  Is Idaho next?

According the the Idaho Statesman, medical marijuana dispensaries in Oregon can start selling 1/4 ounce of marijuana to anyone age 21+.  That's enough for about 7 joints. If you were hoping to take the short drive to Ontario to get high, you won't be able to.

Ontario, Vale and Nyssa had over 55% of people vote against legalization of marijuana in their cities so it won't be available there.  The closest dispensary is five hours away in Bend.

Right now possession of up 3 oz of marijuana in Idaho is a misdemeanor punishable by a year in jail and $1,000 fine.  Would you like to see that change and have marijuana be legal in Idaho?
