In 2007 I was playing junior high football for the Bishop Kelly mini-Knights probably getting ready for a game listening to Lil Wayne "I'm Me"...the cool kid song at the time.  This was before the release of several other hits from Weezy--born Dwayne Michael Carter Jr.

Also in 2007, a very high profile arrest was made in Boise and booked into the Ada County Jail.  That was the arrest of the very artist I was bumping before football practice-- Lil Wayne.  I remember it being quite the thing to talk about in middle school, so it's crazy to look back at the story now.

At the time of his arrest, Lil Wayne was 25 years old and booked on a felony fugitive charge before his concert in downtown Boise at Century Link Arena.  Because of the type of charge, he was not eligible for bail. His troubles stemmed out of the state of Georgia where authorities had accused him of possessing a controlled substance.

Several years have passed since this arrest and honestly, I never imagined he would be back in Boise after that experience!  Just announced, though, is Lil Wayne LIVE in Boise!

The concert is happening at The Revolution Concert House near Expo Idaho on Sunday, April 23rd at 8:00 p.m.

Tickets are on sale now, and we're anticipating this to be a great concert. Lil Wayne is one of those artists that you totally forget has SO MANY HITS!
